BEHIND THE LENS
Photographer Alex Toth seeks to capture a variety of subjects including urban architecture, landscapes, still life, and sports action.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Alex began capturing images of the world around him at the age of 14. He is influenced by photographers Giuseppe Parisi, Stuck In Customs, and Atiba Jefferson. Working in digital color and B&W, his creations are provocative, timeless, and one of a kind.
A regional finalist in the 2009 Ohio Governor’s Art Show, his work has won numerous honors, including 4 CCS.com Photo of the Week awards. His piece "Rainbow Flavored Martinis" won 1st place in the Photography category at the Portage County Art Show. Also, it won Best in Category at the 2009 Reminderville Art Show and 2009 Reminderville Photography Show. Additionally, Alex’s work has been published in the online Guide of Oahu.
An artist in all forms of digital media, Alex has done graphic design work for local bands, promotional videos for area skateboarders, and a skateboard enthusiast websites. Regarding post production, Alex has created pieces using High Dynamic Range imaging, and advanced photoshop techniques including clone stamping, healing, and rendering. Alex maintains his own studio, doing family portraits, band photo shoots, and senior pictures. He shoots using a Canon EOS 30D, a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8, a Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5, Nikon Sb80dx Speedlights, and Pocket Wizards.
